My 2022 lineup is ready & I can’t wait for you to find out what it is. As 2021 is coming to an end, many planners are debating their 2022 lineup. What planner system are you going to use? Which planner is the best planner for your specific needs? Are you using it for work, task management, productivity, journaling, memory keeping or weekly tasks? It’s important to use a planner system that works for you. There are several types of planners that serve a specific purpose & finding the right one for 2022 is key.

Disc & Ring Bound Planners
As I shared my discs on Instagram, my planning system has definitely evolved over time. I have used ring planners & disc planners because of their functionality & portability. Although each planing system is different, they all have a very similar function for myself as a planner. My ring planner is easily able to add inserts, dashboards & deco within my planning system. Discs allow for the same flexibility but unlike ring planners, you are able to completely fold your planner on itself. Each type of planner allows you to personalize the planning system with dashboards, dividers, types of inserts, deco or folders. In addition, with discs there is an ease of placing inserts inside the planner without having to open rings. Other planners have shared their love of rings because they can fit more inserts unlike discs which can be limited.

Coiled Planners
When it comes to coiled planners, it’s more difficult for one to customize the covers, dividers or layouts. I have recently received a Purple Trail App Coiled Planner, that allows you to customize & design your planner. You can design your front cover, back cover, layout & even the type of daily or weekly styles within your planner. Furthermore, you can place their year, month & days of the week modules in any manner you prefer. The rest of the layout is up to you. However with an Erin Condren planner, you are only able to change specific areas while using the same layout. You can learn more about the Purple Trail App Planner in my recent YouTube video.

Book Bound Planners
Book bound planners are planners that are literally in one book. You have either a bullet journal style planner or a Hobonichi style planner. With a bullet journal, you generally get a dot grid planner with white thick paper for creating spreads. You are also able to create spreads containing water colors, markers, paint, stickers, washi tape or ephemera. With a Hobonichi planner, you get a yearly overview, monthly, weekly & daily pages. The paper is also made with Tomoe River paper which is very thin & can cause ink to smudge.
In addition, with Hobonichi weeks, the paper is not as white. It presents as an off-white or yellow undertone spread. The Hobonichi weeks is meant to be an everyday carry, which is why the paper is not white. I love that you can literally contain an entire year of planning within one book. You can also use various stickers or mediums when planning in your planner. It truly is a beloved favorite within the planner community.
Questions to ask for your 2022 Planners
What is the main purpose of your planner? Are you going to need a portable smaller planner that is an everyday carry? Do you like having the ability to change your layout or inserts? Are you planning daily, weekly or monthly? Do you prefer more durable planners, goal specific planners or want something that you can just throw in your purse? Do you need a catch all planner or a planner for a specific purpose such as a work planner?
When thinking about deciding what you want for 2022? You have to consider why are you going to use the planner? In addition, you have to be realistic. Are you someone who plans daily or weekly? Are you someone who likes to carry a planner in your purse or bag?
As 2022 approaches you have to think about your goals. Watch some content creators or follow planner accounts that are using planner systems you want to use. I also want you to think about your lifestyle. Think about how & where you will use your planner. I hope these questions help with your decision in your 2022 lineup.
So What Planners am I using for 2022?
I’m using an A5 Hobonichi Cousin, Hobonichi weeks, A6 Staology, discs & a coiled planner. I will be using them for memory keeping, my catch all, reference, social media & journaling.
Thanks so much for reading! Until the next post!
